Dog fouling stations needed to solve messy issue in local towns

first_imgMore designated areas are needed for the disposal of dog bags in towns such as Letterkenny, according to local councillor Michael McBride.Local residents have complained about the high amount of dog mess on footpaths around Letterkenny recently, which led to the issue being brought to the county council this month.Cllr McBride said: “If you are around Letterkenny, the amount of people out walking dogs in very high. The thing that’s missing is the stations with litter bags for foul.” The council has been asked to provide funding to allow for the rollout of fouling stations county-wide over the new term, giving priority to areas such as Letterkenny. In response to the motion, Senior Engineer Bryan Cannon said that 100,000 dog foul bags were given out by the local authority this year alone. He highlighted the success of the “any bag, any bin” campaign which highlights that dog foul may be disposed of in any bin so long as it is contained within any bag.Compostable dog foul bags are provided to the public and community groups from all Public Services Centres and a number of other locations countywide. Dog fouling stations needed to solve messy issue in local towns was last modified: September 30th, 2019 by Rachel McLaughlinShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img read more

BREAKING: SmallHD Releases New 7″ FOCUS Monitor with 1000 Nit Brightness

first_imgSmallHD consistently brings monitors with fantastic sets of features to the market, and with the new FOCUS 7 they’re at it again. The SmallHD FOCUS was a great product. Around here, we use one every single day. The daylight-viewable screen and convenient form-factor was a grand slam from a company that consistently brings great products to market. Now, they’ve announced the FOCUS 7, a similar product to its predecessor but with a few bells and whistles that address absolutely any issues I might have had with the original FOCUS.Aside from the larger screen (which is a big plus for me — I don’t really like to pull focus on a 5″ monitor), there are some really great new features available on the FOCUS 7.1000 Nit BrightnessImage via SmallHD.What is a nit? Well, I’m not sure. However, I hear that you want more nits. The more nits the better. Gimme those nits. All joking aside, functionally speaking, nits are just a measurement of brightness for LCD screens. The original FOCUS monitor was purely daylight viewable, and the FOCUS 7 will be even brighter than the previous monitor. The FOCUS had 800 nit brightness, whereas the FOCUS 7 is up to 1000 nits. What does this mean? It pretty much means that even in the harshest full sunlight, you’ll still be able to see a crystal clear image. I’ve been in some situations with the original FOCUS where things were becoming a little hard to see. I bet the 200 extra nits will take care of that.Full-Size HDMI PortThis is definitely my biggest gripe about the old FOCUS monitor. Anytime I wanted to use that monitor with a full-sized cinema camera and not a DSLR, I had to use an adapter, which was frustrating. Most of the adapters you can find are cheap and poor quality, and they would break in the middle of a shoot, necessitating a quick run to the electronics store. Very frustrating. For DSLR or mirrorless shooters, however, it was nice having that convenience. The FOCUS 7 will have a full-size HDMI port. This will make it a bit easier to use it with bigger cameras.1920×1200 Screen ResolutionAside from all the other great features, the FOCUS 7 has better resolution than the previous FOCUS monitor. at 1920×1200 resolution, you’ll have all the resolution you need to make sure that you get critical focus in any situation. Not to mention, along with that resolution, you get the benefit of their fantastic OS3 software — if you’ve had the pleasure to work with it, you know it’s good. Real-time scopes, waveforms, focus assist, false color, anything you’d want — and especially real-time 3D LUTS.The FOCUS 7 is available now for $699Top Image via SmallHD.Looking for more articles on film and video production? Nissan to have 240 dealerships by March

first_imgMumbai, Sep 17 (PTI) Japanese car maker Nissan India will ramp up its dealerships to 230-240 by March from 200 it already has, as part of its three-pronged strategy of more products, more customers and more customer touch-points. “We will have 230 to 240 dealerships by the end of the current fiscal year and 300 by March 2017. We have launched 19 dealerships this year so far, with the latest being in Mumbai the other day,” Nissan India managing director Arun Malhotra told PTI. Nissan is present across 124 cities with 200 dealerships since it entered the country five years ago. He said the companys efforts at increasing network quality, or having more customer touch-points has seen the customer satisfaction score jumping to No 3 this year from a distant No 9 two years ago. Recently, JD Power Asia Pacific ranked Nissan India No 3 in terms sales satisfaction in 2015. When asked about Nissans plans to launch premium SUVs and sports cars in the country, Malhtora said a decision on the same will be announced within a month under their strategy of Hello Model strategy next month, which is aimed at enhancing customer delight and bringing excitement to the market. He said during the current financial year alone, Nissan has already opened 18 outlets in metropolitan as well as non-metro cities. Nissan India sells the hatchback Micra, the MUV Sunny, Terrano the SUV and the sedan apart from the hatchback Go from its Datsun stable and has a manufacturing facility in Chennai in partnership with its global partner Renault. Earlier this month, Nissan India president Guillaume Sicard had said the company was keen to bring in some of the high-end performance cars and sports utility vehicles from its global portfolio here next year. “We have a plan to evolve our product line-up. As for 2017, we will have a renewal of all Nissan models. I cannot disclose too much but we are changing the tone of our products, injecting a strong amount of style and also being very SUV oriented. We also want to bring in performance cars and SUVs into this market,” Sicard had told PTI. He further said Nissan is busy studying on importing some performance cars or sport SUVs. While he did not name the models, globally it sells various sports cars such as the GT-R, 370Z Roadsters and SUVs like Patrol. Last year, Nissan launched the Datsun Go here, marking the global comeback of the brand after nearly three decades. But so far it has got only a lukewarm response.
