Last summer, Manchester United had four deals done early doors, but currently only have Victor Lindelof signed up when they ideally want four transfers in total. Smalling wants first-team assurances ahead of next year’s World Cup, but it appears Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly will see it curtailed. 2. Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid) – Spain star Morata has, reportedly, been Jose Mourinho’s top attacking target this summer, but still a deal hasn’t been done. Currently, Real are holding out for a £72m fee, but the Red Devils are trying to lower this asking price. It is believed the player still expects a move to happen, but it might not happen in time for him to join them at the start of their pre-season tour. Mourinho is said to want the deal done by Sunday, but there are still hoops to jump through to get the deal over the line. 7 7 7 7 4. Wayne Rooney to Everton – A deal to take the England international back to Goodison Park is creeping ever closer. It appears the move will be a free transfer, allowing Everton to pay him £250,000 a week, over two years. 3. Ivan Perisic (Inter Milan) – With Mourinho urging Ed Woodward to hurry up with his transfer business, it appears the Croat could join imminently. Italian media is suggesting the player has agreed personal terms, which will see him get paid £6.2m a year. A transfer fee still needs to be sorted, though, with Manchester United around £10m below the figure Inter Milan. 5. David De Gea to Real Madrid – As Real Madrid seek a long-term replacement for Keylor Navas, they may be about to turn their attention to De Gea once more. Earlier in the summer, Real had been interested in landing Gianluigi Donnarumma, but this deal now appears to be off the table, leaving them to look at other options. Talks between the club and his agent are likely but it’s doubtful a transfer will materialise any time soon. 7 7 7last_img read more
