The President’s Lecture Series is freeand open to the public.In her talk, Keller, whose current research focuses on the history ofdevelopmental biology, will examine the meaning and history of the term “geneticprogram.”“Whatever functions that term may have served in the past, currentdevelopments in molecular biology suggest ways in which it is positivelymisleading as a description of the role of genes in development,” Keller said.With a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Harvard University, Keller hasworked for several years at the interface of physics and biology.Her work during the last 10 years has focused on the ways in which languagehelps to shape the scientific enterprise.### last_img read more
